10. UltraTouch 01911

UltraTouch is a toilet seat brand owned by Hogue. They make heated and standard toilet seats. They also sell the requisite accessories to set up a toilet.

Design and Build

UltraTouch 01911 is a heated toilet seat with no extra features such as a bidet or a dryer. It is built of anti-microbial materials and has a soft to touch surface. There is a thermal circuit element embedded in the seat that warms the seat at 12 volts up to 20 – 25 degrees above the ambient temperature. The unit requires a 110-volt wall outlet and connects using a 6 feet cord. The unit is said to be dishwasher-safe.

Functionality

UltraTouch 01911 has a 12-volt transformer that brings the seat temperature close to your body temperature. In a room at 68 – 70°F, this is definitely a warm toilet. It is recommended to keep the lid down this preserves the heat in the soft material. These toilet seats are made by experts using special equipment. These seats are made by moulding an “insert”; which is a conventional hard seat made of appropriate material. This insert is of a smaller size as it has to be put in a second mould. Then a Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) is over moulded over this insert. They are chemically bonded to make it a permanent set-up. A pressure of 3000 PSI is applied to complete the process. This TPE is soft to touch.

Capacity

UltraTouch 01911 conceals a 12-watts UL listed transformer that requires a 110-volt outlet. This heated toilet seat consumes only one-fifth of the power used by a 60-watt bulb. If you have a round bowl than choose a 16.5-inch-long seat and if you have an elongated bowl pick an 18.5-inch seat. The distance between the hinge posts is 5.5 inches.
